Debates exist over chemicals because we have become too used to their presence in society. We build with them, grow crops and kill weeds with them, and fashion ever more amazing products with them, and then wonder why we are being swamped by a sea of neurological disorders, including ADHD in children, aggressive behavior, depression and suicidal ideation. Chemical engineering seems too profitable and too much of an attractant in terms of an imagined "Brave New World". We feel we are evolving into a better type of human, and this evolutionary figment of our crippled imaginations is precisely the grease being unconsciously used by our romantic flight upward to help us slip and slide into greater and greater error. And, as we err, the chemical nightmares reveal themselves...
"Many organophosphates are also associated with irritation of the skin and upper respiratory tract... The controversy over whether neurobehavioural effects persist after recovery from organophosphate poisoning has continued for 30 years. There have been reports of deficits in memory and abstraction on test batteries and subclinical decreases in vibrotactile sensitivity in workers recovering from organophosphate poisoning, but results of clinical and neurological examinations were normal. Among workers who apply organophosphates but have not suffered poisoning episodes, some studies have shown similar types of subclinical neurobehavioural deficits and subclinical electroencephalographic abnormalities, whereas others had largely negative results" (O'Malley 1997; my emphasis).
Recovery from organophosphate poisoning? This is not, apparently, essentially possible, for epigenetic discoveries now reveal a hidden swath of future-programmed health impacts that can span generations. We thought that one could recover from this type of poisoning, and then we discovered that effects were also often long-term and even profound...
Note: "Various epidemiological studies have demonstrated that individuals exposed to a single large toxic dose, or to small subclinical doses, of organophosphorus compounds have developed a chronic neurotoxicity that persists for years after exposure and is distinct from both cholinergic and OPIDN effects... Our review of the literature indicated that these studies describe a nervous system disorder induced by organophosphorous compounds which involves neuronal degeneration and subsequent neurological, neuroal, and neuropsychological consequences" (Abou-Donia, 2003).
The neurobehavioural controversy exists precisely because, as this information clearly shows, most difficult-to-define poisoning impacts are sub-clinical, or presenting as a condition or illness that is not readily identified by the usual orthodox medical investigations (which are generally fairly obtuse). This is why sensitive neuro-psychological tests and behavioural assessment are necessary for those more 'gently' touched by pesticides.

Suicide Deaths From Pesticide Poisoning
In the wake of suicidal behavior, self poisoning from pesticide ingestion registers as a massive problem, particularly in developing countries. It accounts for hundreds of thousands of deaths annually (Bertolote & Fleischmann 2006). Interestingly, the World Health Organisation has suggested that "restricting access to commonly used methods of suicide" means "restricting pesticide use to those compounds least harmful to humans" (ibid.).
This thinking and strategy simply reinforces the globally developing notion that we are overusing pesticides that are far too toxic.
The solvents in pesticides may also contribute to neurological disorders such as memory problems and chronic depression, so it is not just a matter of middle to low income farming communities generating individuals who are depressed because of issues with government or income. This is an issue with deep toxicological ramifications.

Note: "Exposure to herbicides (weed killers) before the age of one is linked to a more than four-fold increase in childhood asthma" (BeyondPesticides.org 2008, citing Boise, et al. 2004). Brain Cancer, Breast Cancer And Uterine Cancer Linked To Toxic Waste
Human Health Studies can reveal a lot about the ultimate results of placing waste depots near people and properties. For example, the Castlereagh Human Health Study (Williams & Jalaludin, 1993) investigated the increased disease incidence arising through toxic waste leakage from the Castlereagh Waste Management Centre in Londonderry, Sydney. This is a waste deposit area that took in over 2 million tonnes of liquid waste over a period of decades.
Note in this regard in the areas affected by depot leachate (leaking toxic waste residues): "the Human Health Study found that the "rate of brain cancer in males [is] more than three times the NSW average", with "the breast cancer rate between 1979 and 1983... two-and-a-half times the State average, with eight cases identified, while three cases of uterine cancer between 1984 and 1988... [were] more than five times the average" (Kerr, 1995:1-3)" (Thompson, 1998:9).
Strangely, the study's politically comfortable 'inconclusive' outcome was followed by an "alert status [that was] adopted in relation to [the] health outcomes..." (Williams & Jalaludin, 1993:v).

Suffocating Under A Sea Of Unknown Chemicals
We have immersed ourselves under a sea of chemical contaminants, and we have blindly accepted and trusted our bodies to these unknown substances as we favor, more and more, modern products containing newer chemical concoctions. We don't know what individual chemicals will do inside either us or 'outside' in the natural environment in contact with natural substances, and we also don't know what these compounds will do in interraction with each other (as inside a toxic waste pit, although it's known that these type of chemical combinations can eat through a clay liner in a waste pit!). We have exchanged reliable and nourishing 'knowns' in nature and, yes, 'unknowns' in nature for wholly toxic unknowns and nightmarish 'knowns' and potentials in modern chemical technologies.

In terms of our love affair with chemical technologies, not only are our attitudes intrinsically flawed when science and technological pursuits are valued above nature, but in not valuing the gems science teaches us about real nature we engage in a compounding insult to ecology and our own intelligence. We thereby destroy our literacy in a world of potential experience and, for too many of us, we may not even be aware of the potentials we have sidestepped (Mulligan 2004:4), as we bludgeon past them with selfish industrial and corporate ideas and pursuits.
Put another way: "How much, I wondered, have we managed to lose through this invisible disease [of Multiple Chemical Sensitivity]? How much intellectual capacity and function have we managed to destroy, gone before we had the benefit of the asset? " (Donohoe 1998:32). We are experiencing a continuous mental capacity hemorrhage, a perpetual abortion of higher mental functions ultimately leaving us with uncontrollable anger or depression, as the case may be. MCS and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
I have MCS badly. As well, my son has MCS, though not as severely as me (thankfully). MCS is a chemical hyper-sensitivity, metabolically-based syndrome produced, in my case, through my exposure to a synthetic pyrethroid termiticide in my former New South Wales Department of Housing unit in north-west Sydney in 2000. Apparently I was exposed mainly to the solvent vapour portion of the overall pesticide mixture. As well as two acute exposures, I experienced a long-term exposure to the application's solvent vapour because the chemical barrier termiticide treatment soaked into my unit's ground floor concrete foundation slab. This was confirmed later when test holes were dug around the slab. They clearly showed that the pesticide was originally injected directly down onto a plate of concrete extending out from, and continuous with, the unit's foundation slab. An expert Vapor Intrusion Report confirmed this.

1 Million Accidental Human Pesticide Poisonings Each Year
Technology rages. It never stops, and this form of 'innovation' is stampeding unchecked and unexamined. THE CONSEQUENCE OF WHICH IS CHEMICAL POISONING ON A GLOBAL SCALE AND A MOVEMENT TOWARD THE ELIMINATION OF NORMAL REPRODUCTIVITY AND LIFE ON EARTH. It is a matter that needs addressing now, because otherwise, and without profound change, we are sentient and yet blind 'caretakers' stampeding an entire planet toward a morbid technologically-induced devastation, brutally failing an enlightened intellectual concern for readily available scientific research and its exposition of CHEMICAL CAUSE & EFFECT!
"Each year an estimated 2.5 million tons of pesticides are applied to agricultural crops worldwide. The amount of pesticide coming in direct contact with or consumed by target pests is an extremely small percentage of the amount applied. In most studies the proportion of pesticides applied reaching the target pest has been found to be less than 0.3%, so 99.7% went 'somewhere else' in the environment (Pimentel, 1995)" (van der Werf, 1996:81). The pesticides ended up wherever we are! Worries about the movement of pesticides in the atmosphere have arisen during the 1970s and 1980s. Transport and redeposition of pesticides may occur over very long distances, as evidenced by the presence of pesticides in ocean fog (Schomburg & Glotfelty, 1991) and arctic snow (Gregor & Gummer, 1989)... Human pesticide poisonings and illnesses are the highest price paid when pesticides reach non-target areas. It is estimated that there are about 1 million accidental human pesticide poisonings each year in the world, with about 20000 reported deaths (WHO-UNEP, 1989)... Recent evidence indicates that pesticides may damage the immune system (Culliney et al., 1992), and can mimic hormones and may thus disrupt the endocrine system in both humans and animals, causing a variety of disorders (LeBlanc, 1995). Human health issues such as increased incidence of breast cancer, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, endometriosis, birth defects in the male reproductive tract, and reductions in sperm count have been associated with the presence of endocrine disrupting chemicals in the environment (Hileman, 1994; Davis & Bradlow, 1995; Kelce et al., 1995)" (van der Werf, 1996:83-86). Dr. Judy Ford says chemicals are a huge issue in terms of the increasing problem of infertility (Ford, 2008).

Chemical Regulation Needs Overhaul: Protect Our Kids From Cancer
The APVMA (Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority) in Australia needs to start recognizing and internalizing this readily available research and make PROFOUND CHANGES TO THE WAY THEY THINK AND DO. Note: "...we need to make a huge shift in the way we regulate chemicals... Our regulators have made yet another mistake and while they will say there are no problems with the existing system and will defend it, along with the manufacturing industry, it will eventually be changed - it will just take 10 or 20 years for it to happen" (Dingle, 2005).
Meanwhile our children get sick and die from pesticide-induced cancers & other illnesses by the truckload. These were once illnesses that were reserved for the elderly, but which are now the domain of our precious youth through the flooding of our environment with highly toxic chemicals.
Note: "A child's brain is also more vulnerable because of the immaturity of the blood-brain-barrier, which is designed to protect it from toxins. Even in adults this barrier cannot protect the brain from many heavy metals and synthetic chemicals such as solvents and pesticides. In infants it is almost totally ineffective against most modern day chemicals. This dramatically increases the risk of both temporary and permanent damage to the brain. It's possible that early exposure to some chemicals may permanently reduce the effectiveness of the blood brain barrier, allowing increased passage of toxins to the brain, and increasing the person's vulnerability to certain chemicals throughout their life" (Dingle 2005). Again, how many children live... anywhere near agriculture, parks and golf courses where pesticides are liberally sprayed? Do any of these children matter? Or does only the convenience of NOW matter everywhere for the businesses, Councils and golf clubs that believe their spraying activities are more important than OUR VERY FUTURE... the future of this world locked inside our children?

Aggressive Behaviour Has Toxicological Inputs
Epidemiological studies are needed in any location where toxic agents have been used over an extended period of time (e.g. outside the perimeter of a golf club where pesticides have been sprayed). As well, behavioural studies could link in and look at any increased incidence of sociological problems relating to chemical exposure, toxic burden AND CONSEQUENT NEUROLOGICAL IMPACT. Societal aggression and anti-social behaviour has a significant TOXICOLOGICAL COMPONENT woven into it. This is where law enforcement needs to become more educated (hence, why I have contacted the New South Wales Police Force, Crime Victims Support Assoc. Inc., the Australian Crime Prevention Council, etc. in my Essay located at: http://poisoningandlegalaction.com.au/essays/essay1-worldwide-disease-pandemics.pdf).

Now, why should we be suspicious of chemical technologies?
Let's see: 1 in 3 people in England will develop cancer (DirectGov, 2007). 1 in 4 people in industrialized countries will die from CANCER, with only about 5 percent of cancers being attributable to genetic susceptibility, and with even this level of susceptibility being likely a product of "environmental insults" (Laurier, 2003; citing the 351-page report from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), a branch of the World Health Organization). 1 in 8 women have breast cancer (American Cancer Society, 2008). Over 30 million people in 2002 in the US alone had been diagnosed with asthma, with over 4200 deaths (National Center for Health Statistics, 2008). Over 40 million people in the US alone are afflicted with rheumatic conditions (including arthritis), with this overall condition being the leading cause of disability for those 65+ (CureResearch.com, 2007).
More than 194 million people worldwide have diabetes (NKDEP, 2005). 15% of the US population suffers from MCS (Mindfully.org, 2007). 4.1 million people in 15 of the world's largest nations have Parkinson's Disease, with this number predicted by the journal Neurology to double over the next generation (Bio-Medicine.org, 2008). 2.5 million people worldwide have Multiple Sclerosis (ScienceDaily, 2008). More than 5 million people worldwide have systemic lupus erythematosus (Yb Dato Liow Tiong Lai, 2008). So, in other words, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and motor neurone disease mortality has soared in the last twenty years. Massive Chemical Cocktails On Golf Courses Threaten Golfers' Health/Lives!
Golf clubs are known for using fungicides on the putting greens and other pesticides throughout the course (Dr. Mark Donohoe, 16 June 2008, pers. comm.). Also: "Pesticides that are used on golf courses fall into three categories: insecticides, herbicides and fungicides. Insecticides are used to a lesser extent than either herbicides or fungicides. Herbicides, if used for two to three consecutive years, can pretty well eliminate most weeds of concern. Fungicides are used because fungal pathogens can cause severe loss of grass on a golf course." Note: "...Friends of the Earth is also concerned that a range of pesticides (herbicides, insecticides and fungicides) will be used on the course after construction and also on the turf grass nurseries. These pesticides will have the ability not only to potentially pollute Melbourne's drinking water, but could also (particularly the insecticides), play havoc with native fish that inhabit the river downstream of the development. One only has to look at what happened to the Warringah Golf Course in 2001 after their misuse of the insecticide Gusathion which led to the golf course having to pay out $500,000 after 10,000 fish (and many species of birds) were killed at Manly Lagoon. And what of people living near golf courses? My son developed a range of severe psychological problems after moving in next to a golf course. I inadvertently pulled weeds on a dusty dry day at the back fence of my son's house, inhaled herbicide residue in the dust, and then developed extremely distressing chest pains. I had to stop.

Note: "...Friends of the Earth is also concerned that a range of pesticides (herbicides, insecticides and fungicides) will be used on the course after construction and also on the turf grass nurseries. One only has to look at what happened to the Warringah Golf Course in 2001 after their misuse of the insecticide Gusathion which led to the golf course having to pay out $500,000 after 10,000 fish (and many species of birds) were killed at Manly Lagoon. Chemical Diffusion Can Do Almost Anything!
Better research now shows that chemicals have the ability to move in ways not previously understood or appreciated. Chemicals can pass through materials, and even against other 'opposing' processes that we would normally assume might present an assertive barrier to movement. Note:

The article entitled: "Tumor-promoting activity and mutagenicity of 5 termiticide compounds" (Source: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15624354?dopt=Abstract; Journal of UOEH, 2004 Dec 1;26(4):423-30; accessed: August 2009) seems to imply that Bifenthrin can cause cancer.
Note: "The tumor-promoting activities of 5 commercial compounds used in termiticides were measured by a cell-transformation assay employing Bhas 42 cells... The results of the transformation assay confirmed the tumor-promoting activities of fenitrothion, silafluofen and bifenthrin... Consideration of 2-stage carcinogenesis suggests that concurrent use of and long-term exposure to these compounds that have tumor-promoting and initiator activity, and compounds exhibiting either type of activity individually should be avoided as much as possible."

The Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) in the US has completed a human health risk assessment on the use of the active ingredient bifenthrin as a subterranean termiticide (BiflexB TC).

Bifenthrin is NOT immobile, as well as being quite persistent
Note the following article, entitled: "Distribution and persistence of pyrethroids in runoff sediments". This journal article supports the observation that Bifenthrin is NOT immobile, as well as being quite persistent.
"Pyrethroids are commonly used insecticides in both agricultural and urban environments. Recent studies showed that surface runoff facilitated transport of pyrethroids to surface streams, probably by sediment movement. Sediment contamination by pyrethroids is of concern due to their wide-spectrum aquatic toxicity."
The article then waxes extremely technical, however it clearly and strongly shows that pyrethroid contaminants such as Bifenthrin and Permethrin showed up as residues in eroded sediment along a runoff path of 260m! The contaminant "enrichment" was apparently selective because it coincided with the runoff pathway enrichment of sediment "clay fractions" and "organic carbon" or, in other words, "organic matter and chemical-rich fine particles."
And, as to persistence? "Long persistence was observed for BF [Bifenthrin] under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions, and the half-life ranged from 8 to 17 mo at 20 [Degrees] C... The significant enrichment, along with the prolonged persistence, suggests that movement of pyrethroids to the surface water may be caused predominantly by the chemically rich fine particles."
The article, on the basis of this recognition of the mobility and persistence in pyrethroid contaminants, strongly argues for "mitigation strategies to reduce offsite movement of fine sediment." Common Illnesses Linked To Glyphosate
Many common illnesses thought to arise through other causes are actually created by the massive quantities of glyphosate and other pesticide compounds used worldwide by agriculture, state forests, national parks, councils, railways, golf clubs, leagues clubs & private residents! Given this kind of pesticide popularity and coverage, it should not be surprising that a consensus of evidence in terms of identifying toxicological cause and effect has been forming over extended time.
And again, given this kind of pesticide popularity and coverage, this also means that exposed children may have their entire lives ruined at critical developmental stages by the formula: child + glyphosate = ADHD (Cox, 2004). This massive impact on the most recent generations of humans formed is now framing an elevated Extinction Level Event maintaining a huge variation in impact types. For adults, a "study of 56 men exposed to organophosphate pesticides detected memory problems and difficulty in maintaining alertness and focusing attention" (Sinclair & Pressinger, no date, citing Annual Reviews in Public Health, 7:461, 1986 [Sharp, et. al., 1986]). Pesticides Linked To Cancers of Unknown Primary Site
What are usually classified as 'non-specific' symptoms can be themselves a characteristic or major signature of pesticide and other toxic chemical poisoning dynamics. A "study showed there was approximately [a] 2-fold greater risk of having a stillbirth if the mother lived within 1 mile from an agricultural area which used organophosphate -- pyrethroid -- carbamate -- or chlorinated pesticides" (Sinclair & Pressinger, no date, citing Bell, et al., 2001).
Glyphosate... is a non-selective, systematic herbicide. This organophosphate compound is the active ingredient in the weedkiller Roundup (Royal Society of Chemistry 2009).
Perhaps some of the mysterious "cancers of unknown primary site... a special pathological entity with distinctive features" (Bishop, 2008) that "represents 4% of all cancers, but sadly 8% of cancer deaths" (Firth, 2008) in New South Wales (Australia) can be explained through the huge increase in ENVIRONMENTAL SATURATION BY PESTICIDE PRODUCTS? Pesticide Spraying Is Chemical Warfare In Peacetime!
Because toxic pesticides are immensely convenient, and because organizations want the subtly fascist & bureaucratic freedom to liberally spray for the sake of that lazy convenience & dollar 'value' bottom line, wouldn't you expect that they would not be forthcoming in investigating & sharing research-proven toxicological information on the dangers of pesticides? That they would hope that you the public didn't have the time or 'head space' to bother being educated about these poisonous sprays? This represents a massive gap in our human rights thinking! Nothing less than total transparency is demanded here. And total scientific responsibility. That means applying the precautionary principle. Pesticide spraying: WHAT IS ILLEGAL IN WAR (any variety of chemical warfare) MUST BECOME ILLEGAL IN PEACETIME!

Chemical Trespass Destroying Our Planet
Why aren't those with power and influence, who aren't poisoned and crippled (like me with MCS), doing more to elevate awareness of this massive and expanding EXTINCTION LEVEL EVENT, and assertively advancing the making and changing of laws, e.g. Chemical Trespass legislation such as the Tasmanian Chemical Trespass Bill 2004 (defeated).
Or are we allowing, through our neglect and lethargy, the consistent poisoning and rapid destruction of an entire planet on purpose and in deference to the weight and bloat of disinterest, pesticide manufacturers' vested interests, and perhaps a climate change imperative that does not adequately address this issue?
The chemical contamination of Earth is a bigger matter for human survival than Climate Change. When human fertility presents as being negatively impacted, we can be assured that the very viability of the human species is under a profound level of threat.

Pesticide: Parkinson Disease, Hairy Cell Leukemia & Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma
Perhaps some of the mysterious "cancers of unknown primary site� a special pathological entity with distinctive features" (Bishop, 2008) that "represents 4% of all cancers, but sadly 8% of cancer deaths" (Firth, 2008) in New South Wales (Australia) can be explained through the huge increase in ENVIRONMENTAL SATURATION BY PESTICIDE PRODUCTS? And what does this kind of saturation produce in terms of understanding we presently have? Note: "Two separate studies in Sweden have linked exposure to Glyphosate to Hairy Cell Leukemia and Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. These types of cancers were extremely rare, however Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is the most rapidly increasing cancer in the Western world. It has risen by 73% in the USA since 1973. Another study has found a higher incidence of Parkinson disease amongst farmers who used herbicides, including glyphosate" (Leu, 2007 citing Cox, 1998; Lehmann & Pengue, 2000; Nordstrom, et al., 1998; Hardell & Eriksson, 1999). The Current Global Frog Genocide: Only One of Many Global Pandemics
Perhaps it is not convenient for this corporation profit-driven world to believe the studies showing "genetic damage and abnormal development" in frogs through the use of glyphosate or "Roundup" (Cox, 2004), or "damage to agricultural land, fisheries, fauna and flora [through] chemical inputs such as pesticides" (Wilson & Tisdell, 2001). The Inconvenient Truth of PESTICIDE-MEDIATED IMMUNOCOMPETENCY is the apparent mechanism for limb deformities in frogs (Kiesecker, 2002; Hall, circa 2002) and our current global frog genocide.
Frogs are a barometer of ecological health. Their rapid demise globally demonstrates clearly that we have, via industrialisation, polluted and affected an entire planet, the only one we have available to us. Animal disease outbreaks (e.g. Avian Influenza, Ross River Virus, Hendra Equine virus, Mad Cow Disease, etc.) portend even greater and more virulent future disasters. And, in the human species, a worldwide and mountainous rash of neurodegenerative diseases describe our complete failure to avoid the penalties of our own toxic wastes.

Chemicals, Soil, Logic, Nature & Human Health
Chemical validation is loose and fast. Pretty much what you'd expect inside a global human system programmed to self-destruct. This statement can be taken at least two ways.
1. Programmed to self-destruct in terms of the internal conflicts set up by the chemical obsession industries (and the chemical apathy response from people too far separated from nature); chemical use will automatically generate chaos.
2. Programmed to self-destruct in terms of metaphysically viewing this world and our human experiences as an educational regime in which we experience the full measure of our wrong choices for the purpose of future (beyond-this-life) character development.
Chemical compounds are mostly toxic and are bringing about the complete destabilization of an entire blue planet.
Flushing agents sound really bad for the soil and crops. Roundup (the world's most popular herbicide) is something of a flushing agent because it has chelating properties. It destroys the natural soil properties by flushing out minerals and nutrients, as well as imposing toxic metabolite residues that arise out of the glyphosate itself.
I also would like to steer clear of any aggressive approach to treating soil, ESPECIALLY any use of any chemical agents. Yes, of course soil can be built back up. But just mimic nature as is essentially the approach of these authors.
My fixation is to go this way and especially to avoid/prohibit the use of toxic chemical products on all counts. As I've noted elsewhere in this forum, Roundup ("Glyphosate" and similar) are deadly to soil health and micro and macroflora health. Organic preparations should be used always.
It's logic based in observation that should drive us all toward organic gardening. Nature is prescriptive. Toxic synthetic chemicals are anti-nature and generate chaos. They are still prescriptive because toxic chemicals still influence the planet according to a rationale; a rationale of persistent evil and death. The persistence of this rather conscious evil should give us all pause for thought.

Too often pesticides are CLAIMED to be absolutely safe. Too often, also, we put our implicit faith in pesticide products. We need to be aware of how unsafe modern synthetic chemicals really are. Don't trust in advertising! Protect your family and research commonly used products online. Search for and find Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). They can help you determine the chemical composition of products and substances. ADHD in kids, & Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma Appearing Worldwide
The world's most popular herbicide, Roundup (it has glyphosate in it), has been linked to ADHD in kids, Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, miscarriages and acute toxicity in aquatic life (Cox 2004). As well, Roundup has been shown to be a "chelating product". It strips minerals and nutrients from soil, and leaves soil structure devastated (Ho & Cherry 2010). This product is used everywhere, and it is now registering a new and unanticipated effect: weed herbicide resistance! Agriculture is on notice in terms of its heavy and unexamined dependency on pesticides.
Protect your children and your home environment from this toxic product. Our kids' healthy development should be our most prominent concern. It is our responsibility to ensure that we are not careless in the use and dissemination of toxic chemicals in the environment. Links Between Herbicide & Disease (Cancer)
It's not just a matter of "Sick Building Syndrome" bathing your lungs in a continuous cloud of toxic chemical vapors emanating from particle board cabinets (formaldehyde), paints, lacquers, glues (solvents) and synthetic fixtures (even carpet) inside your home (100% Nylon or Wool carpet is safest)). It's a matter of herbicides being sprayed by your neighbour bathing their and your yards in an invisible cloud of toxic vapors (it has been noted that the clouds above agricultural areas can often be composed largely of pesticide vapor!).
In particular, golf clubs generally use more insecticides, herbicides & fungicides than a typical agricultural production area (in this regard, then, suspect that miscarriages will also feature close to golf clubs, as well as agricultural areas). Roundup, the world's most popular herbicide, has now been linked to Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (Cox 2004), the world's most popular form of cancer... as well as ADHD in kids, miscarriages & acute toxicity in aquatic life! Further, Roundup's surfactant is acutely toxic to humans (Cox 2004), and the herbicide has now also been linked to the destruction of soil viability (structure and nutrient content) (Ho & Cherry 2010).

Disease Symptoms are Themselves Symptoms of a Deeper Psychic Malaise
Chemical exposure can devastate a human life and its massive potential. We are indeed surrounded by chemicals on all sides, and we constantly poison ourselves in terms of the use of common pesticide products and cleaning agents used inside the home. We are in love with convenience and are losing our older and less toxic knowledge bases: our forefathers' ways of dealing with public health and cleaning issues. However, we are also having chemical poisoning imposed upon us. Pesticides are being sprayed by golf clubs, councils, corporate bodies and our own neighbors as an automatic and lazy technical fix to addressing problems. Toxic, GM 'food' and non-GM food are alike being sprayed with toxic cocktails that are now presenting us with a global bow wave of pesticide-resistant weeds and foodstuffs crammed with toxic chemicals. We are largely failing to see this tsunami approach because we are too busy dealing with survival on a planet and tachno-based civilization programmed to crash under the weight of human management ineptitude.
Our failures extend into our personal managment too. Human health and, indeed, broad human reproductive viability are under more threat today than at any point in history, such is the extent of chemical impact on our state of health. We need to migrate away from chemical convenience and lay in a course back to older and more organic and sustainable ways of living. Even older economies need to be revived, along with a global appeal to more stable herbal and 'complimentary' methods of optimizing human health.

Widespread Illnesses Generated By Pesticides Show Extinction Trend!
In the workplace, in our homes, on the farm & in the wider environment, pesticide-induced miscarriages, ADHD, cancers, motor neurone disease, infertility & animal disease epidemics show we are standing on the edge of a cascade of global disease pandemics. My research addresses our profound neglect in terms of good science through examining long-term chemical exposure events in Sydney and elsewhere, & positing wider ramifications: a global, chemically-sponsored epidemic of new and renewed disease configurations clearly demonstrating a global extinction level event.
The evidence is in. The trends are clear. Toxic industrial chemicals are cutting a swath of absolute destruction planet-wide. Although agri-science transnationals are responsible for massive global chemical impacts (e.g. the monopolistic and almost fascist commercialisation of widespread herbicide and GM crop use), public apathy to chemical trends stands as the clearest expression of an unexamined present and future.

Pesticide-induced Reproductive Effects A Worse Problem Than Climate Change
To all who may be interested in an issue intrinsically more devastating than CLIMATE CHANGE. This subject crosses all frameworks and concerns, and addresses the monumental issue of the survival of all life on earth. It is the AGRICULTURAL, PUBLIC HEALTH, TOXICOLOGICAL, EPIDEMIOLOGICAL, ETHICAL/HUMAN RIGHTS/SOCIAL JUSTICE, ANIMAL RIGHTS/ANIMAL CRUELTY, LEGAL, OH&S, CHEMICAL TRESPASS/CRIMINAL ASSAULT, WORKPLACE SAFETY, PESTICIDE PERMIT/REGULATORY, MEDICAL, INJURY/REHABILITATION & ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE OF CAPRICIOUS, INDEPENDENT AND IRRESPONSIBLE PESTICIDE USE.
